Humorous event in Cricket History

Recently India's former Test Cricketer W.V.Raman described
a very entertaining story.India had gone to tour NewZealand
for a practice Test Series in 1989-1990.India was playing
against Otogo in Dunedine.India batted first and scored
more than 400 runs at first day and at second day they
were in good condition because they had already taken two
wickets before lunch time.During lunch time Kapil Dev
complained to be having Headache.

At that time there was nothing like Physiotherapist,
Physical trainer and Doctors associated with team.Indian
Team's manager Bishan Singh Bedi was acting as temporary
doctor.Bedi gave a tablet to Kapil.When team was about to
go after lunch,Kapil said his headache have increased
from before and he slept on sofa.Most of his teammate were
thinking Kapil don't want to face tiredness in this type
of practice matches.When team later returned for tea he
was still sleeping.When team return after day end,they saw
Kapil is in deep sleep.Which thing was responsible for this
condition of Kapil?.

Later it is known that Bishan Singh Bedi had given Tablet
for sleeping instead of pain killer.And one thing all
teammates followed by Kapil instance was they did not go
for Bishan Singh Bedi if they had headache.It was not a
International Test match so India did not face any loss
by loosing Kapil.This is counted as one of the humorous
event in cricket history.

England-Jai Ho!!!

Finally that happened what most were praying
to save test cricket.ICC chief David Morgan
will might not think of any new cultivation
to save test cricket.

There are around 9 ways in which England would
have won the Ashes Series(If you analyse from
probability point of view).But finally the
truth is England have won the series with 2-1
lead.There were fans who anticipated the fate
of the series and told that England would win.
Before the series most fans would have thought
about the fate and and have declared their
obvious result of Australia winning the series.They
did not think toward the extreme cases.

After this series Andrew Flintoff will not
play Test matches anymore and try to concentrate
on big IPL contracts.

Many wanted to see England as winner of this Ashes
series because they wanted some variation that is the
need of current cricket.Cricket fans don't want to see
any repeated champions

Out of Team because of injury in which cricket was not involved(Interesting Cricket)

You must have seen or heard cricketer was out of
team due to injury during a match.But there are
several examples in which cricketers have to sit for
reasons in which cricket was not involved.Andre Nel
who had confidence to be selected in Series against
India was at his own home when he opened refrigerator
and then a water filled bottle fell on his toe;result
was he got injured so much that he could not play that
series.Mathew Hayden had injured his finger bone at
the start of 2006-07 season.He was knowing that he
is out of series so he was jogging in park to keep
himself fit,but don't know from where a dog came and
started pursuing him and finally bite his heel.

England's Cricketer Chris Lewis never shown what
he is capable of during his cricket life.In 1993-94
England team toured West-Indies and don't know why?
he cut down his hair after visiting England and became
bald.He did not took any precaution after becoming bald
and on next day he came for net practice without wearing
cap;It was day time and his head was shining.He got seek
and could not play cricket for 4 days.

England's former Test Captain Ted Dexter's story is
very much interesting.On June 1965 he was going in his
car in Brent Ford city and on Great West Road.He did not
noticed that he have less petrol in his car and finally
it was over before an acclivity on the road.He thought
to take his car to nearest garage and started pushing
it on that road.Hardly had he just travelled some distance
on the inclined road, when he lost his control and the
car rolled over him.Until people approached him he had
got sufficient injuries.

Ian Greg played in England for Sussex.On 1983 his team
was playing County Championship against Cant.When first
day was over he went his home,but interestingly when his
hand went into his pocket to search for keys it came bare.
He might have lost his keys somewhere.But he thought an
idea to enter in his home,the window at second floor was
opened.He was confident of reaching that 18 feet high
window.So he started climbing by taking supports of other
windows but...when he was about to reach that opened
window he lost his balance and fell down.He was badly
injured due to that accident he sat outside team for
about 4 month.The same man i.e. Ian greg again went
through another accident;this time he was Captain of
Surrey.When he got injured during a match he was taken
to hospital for X-Ray.After X-Ray when he was waking up
he did not notice machine kept above his head and collided
with that.Due to which he was out of Team for 15 days.

In 1986 New Zealand toured England.New Zealand Team
had just got down from the plane when NZ Cricketer Traver
Franklin don't know what he did to Luggage Trolley having
a motor;the whole Trolley fell on him and he got buried
inside that.He got quite injuries by his senselessness.
Again in 1992-93 against England,an England bowler threw
a ball which injured his Shoulder.

In 1998-99 West Indies Team left for South Africa but
they stopped in between and started a strike.At that time
Cricketers halted in a Hotel.Jimi Adams was also in Team.
One day Adams was cutting a slice from bread with knife.
he did not notice and cut his finger by mistake.It was so
deep cut that there was blood and blood everywhere.
Team management could not manage doctor instantly and
the doctor which they got,did first aid with very much
difficulty and the person who assist that doctor was
SA Board's Officer Dr.Ali bacher who have medical
Degree but don't practice it.That injury threw him out
of that series and he could not go to South Africa.

In Australia,South African Cricketer Mark Boucher
also went through the injury resembling Adams.Boucher
was rapidly moving the knife between meet to take his
part but by mistake knife took a part of his finger
and he got injured.Andrew Hall did wicketkeeping in
the place of Boucher.

In 1987-1988,England team which toured Pakistan,had
Wicketkeeper Bruce French.Team was doing net practice
and there were some spectators who were watching the
net practice.During practice due to a shot a batsman
a ball went far.During a practice more than a ball are
used so practice started with another ball but anyone
did not notice the ball which had gone toward spectators.
A spectator took that ball and threw it toward nets;this
ball took a direct route to french's head.When he was
being taken to hospital don't know from where a car came
and it collided with French.Lastly he was admitted
and his injuries were plastered.In hospital when he was
waking up from bed for plastering;his head collided with
a bulb hanging above his head

During Hedingley Test in 1982,England's Derec Pringle
was resting on chair and started leaning backward side
but the chair tilted more than what he had expected and
after a second he was on the floor along with his chair.
Due to this his head got injured.

History of the oldest cricket series.

Let's have some background about the Ashes trophy.
Why it's called Ashes trophy?The series is named
after a thriller column published in a British newspaper,
The Sporting Times, in 1882 after a match at The Oval
in which Australia beat England on an English ground
for the first time.The obituary stated that English
cricket had died,and the body will be cremated and
the ashes taken to Australia. The English media dubbed
the next English tour to Australia (1882–83) as the rescue
operation to take back Ashes Trophy.A few weeks later
an English team, captained by the Hon Ivo Bligh [later
Lord Darnley],counter claimed to tour Australia, with
Bligh promising to return with "the ashes";On the other hand
Australian captain WL Murdoch similarly promised to defend them.

Apart from playing three scheduled matches against the
Australian national team,England Captain Bligh and the
beginner players in his team took part in many social
matches.It was after one such match,at the Rupertswood
Estate outside Melbourne on Christmas Eve 1882,that
Bligh was given the small terracotta urn as a symbol
of the ashes that he had travelled to Australia to regain.

Bligh married Florence Morphy in Febryary 1884.Then they
returned to England, taking the urn - which Bligh always
regarded as a personal gift.It was kept on the mantelpiece
at the Bligh family home - Cobham Hall,near Rochester in
Kent - until Bligh died,43 years later.At his request,
Florence gave the urn to MCC.Today,over 75 years on,the
tiny,delicate and irreplaceable artefact resides in the
MCC Museum at Lord's.Each year,it is seen by about million
of visitors from all parts of the world.

In the 1990s,recognising the two teams desire to compete
for an actual trophy,MCC commissioned - after discussions
with the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket
Australia - an urn-shaped Waterford Crystal trophy.
This was first presented to Mark Taylor after his
Australian side emerged winner in the 1998-99 Test series
against England.Since then,the trophy has been presented
to the winning captain at the end of each Test series
between Australia and England.From October 2006 to
January 2007,the urn formed the centre of attraction
of the MCC Travelex Ashes Exhibition.

Let us trip to ground used for the Ashes series matches.
In Australia, the grounds currently used are "The Gabba"
in Brisbane (first staged an England-Australia Test in the
1932–33 season),Adelaide Oval (1884–85), The WACA, Perth
(1970–71) the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) (1876–77)
and the Sydney Cricket Ground(SCG) (1881–82). One Test
was held at the Brisbane Exhibition Ground in 1928–29.
Traditionally,Melbourne hosts the Boxing Day Testand
Sydney hosts the New Year Test, which is the first Test
of every year. Cricket Australia has proposed that the
2010–11 series consist of six Tests, with the additional
game to be played at Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
The England Cricket Board is yet to agree to this.
In England the grounds used are The Oval (since 1880),
Old Trafford (1884), Lord's (1884), Trent Bridge (1899),
Headingley (1899) andEdgbaston (1902). One Test was held
at Bramall Lane, Sheffield in 1902. SWALEC Stadium in
Cardiff,Wales held the first (and its first) Test in the
2009 Ashes series.In addition, the Riverside Ground in
County Durham will host an Ashes test in 2013.

According to tradition to play Ashes series it is being
played between Australia and England currently,Before
the start of the Ashes series everyone was concerned about
if this test series will attract the fans or not.But it is
seem to be successful in this attempt and current result is
1-1.In first test,England cricket team was accused of not
playing with right attitude.Some former cricketer
says there was nothing wrong and some says English
cricketers did not do right.Let us see what happens at oval.

Bad start means half lost

I was waiting for official declaration of the result
of fourth test match to write this post.Because if
rain would have abandoned the match then there were
no meaning of write this post.By the way The above
secret of loosing I derived from Ashes series's fourth
test match.

First take England side.They were looking confident
after the crucial win against England.The appreciation
which England cricketers had earned after a win;
they lost it on the first day of the fourth test match
by scoring 102 runs in 34 overs and no wicket to loose.
Later day after day England did not look to recover any
more.Australia completely humiliated England cricket.
Andrew Flintoff had declared himself fit for the fourth
test match but taking his knee injury as barrier selector
did not included him.

Australia really deserved for winning the fourth game
and they did it.Australians performed well in every
field.Credit goes to all 11 cricketers of Australian team.
There were rumour that Bret Lee is feet to play and he
might be included in the squad but he was not included
finally.Peter Siddle once again came out as important
bowler for Australian side after performing well in India.

Cricket demands England to win the Ashes series because
it will grab the attention of the fan all over the world
and fans complains that there is nothing entertaining
in Ashes now.

It will be interesting to enjoy the last match when
both the team will try to earn respect from their respective
fans.Let us see who will get success in their attempts.
I hope that both the team will try to make the last
test no lesser than a climax of a film.And hoping it will
not be one sided.Both the team will not leave any stone
unturned to win this match.

Waiting to be noticed?

It is said that if two senior talks then
juniors should not interfere in between
that's the condition of Bangladesh-West Indies
and Sri Lanka-Pakistan series.

Bangladesh-West Indies series is over now
but the question still to be answered is that
what WCB gained by this series?.West Indies team
was of inferior quality,because of grievance between
WCB and WCA most of cricketers were on strike.
The Bangladesh side which have gained nothing except
some unexpected results,humiliated the prestige of West
Indies cricket.Last time West Indies cricketer
Shivnarayan Chanderpaul was not involved in 'Operation
Rebel' against WCB that time he was criticised by colleagues
but this time he was also involved in rebels so West Indies
cricket was more weaker than ever before.That's why
even Bangladesh also got a chance to face photographers
with trophy which they had not expected in their dreams
also.I think West Indies cricket Board is weakest cricket
board of all which do not have control over their
cricketers.ICC should interfere in this matter otherwise
there will not be any meaning of playing this type of
series.So no one is interested in this type of cricket in
which cricket's prestige is going down.

Later comes Pak vs SL series.Pakistan who recently
won ICC T20 world Cup 2009,could not grab attention
of cricket fans.Test series score was 2-0 and ODI
series score is 3-0(results are in order Sri lanka-Pakistan).
Nothing is here which is worth grabbing attention because
most of fans had already anticipated that final result
will be in favour of Sri Lanka.

Ashes series between Australia and England;which before
the start was said to be fighting for it's existence
is in big lime-light.Obvious reason is cricket fans
are fed up with Australia winning every series;they
want to see some matches in which someone challenges
empire of Australia in cricket.And this time they sees
some splendid performance from England side and might be
hoping that England should win the series in order to give
some jerk to Australia.

ICC should think over organising more than two or three
series at the same time because Ashes series has maximum
attention of cricket fans leading Bangladesh-WI and
Sri-Lanka series.ICC just should not think for increasing
it's dollars rather they should make sure that good cricket
is being played in good environment.

When Bad umpiring ruins cricket.

If you are fan of a particular team and
bad umpiring decision goes in favour of
your team then you might not be frustrated
but if you are big fan of cricket then
you will not bear any wrong decision to
hamper the cricket.

There have been many wrong decision in cricket
History but in earlier time when there was
no management for replays then fans had to trust
Umpire.Now we have all the armour to show that
whether umpire gave right decision or not rather
umpires undergoes more pressure while giving any
decisions.

It was a Border-Gavaskar Test series last year
in the month of January between Australia and India
in which Umpiring was at it's lowest level.
Mark Benson and Steave Buckner were umpire for this
series.There was total 9 wrong decision in the second
test.Unfortunately all 9 were against India i.e.in the
favour of Australia.Steave Bucknor was already famous
for giving wrong decision against Sachin Tendulkar.
After this match Indian cricketer asked to
change Umpire for the rest of matches.
Indian media made villain to Steave Bucknor and Mark
Benson.Indian Newspapers were quoting headlines like
'They were 14 and we were 11'.These both umpires did
not increased prestige of umpiring anymore.Indian
Cricketer were more frustrated when Mark Benson
was so tired of umpiring and could not even able
to speak on microphone to ask third umpire for
correct decision and thought it to be logical to
ask Ponting for a catch of Sourav Ganguly and
unfortunately Third Umpire i.e.Ponting declared him out:).

The bad umpiring has come in light again in the
current Ashes 2009 series.All Cricket lovers are
showing there frustration by some means.What can be
done to ensure that a decision is flawless.Should
an umpire be directly connected to third umpire for
all doubting catches and run outs etc.Then what Umpire
will do on ground,just declaring what Third Umpire
says rather decision can be displayed on Decision
Board.Otherwise they will be just for noting down
if anyone breaks code of conduct and submitting it
to match referee.Should ICC use umpires with more
experience?.This is silly question because we have
example of Steave Bucknor.Let us hope that ICC learns
lesson from this events and tries to make cricket
better by improving it's Umpiring Field.

The brand new Mongoose bat

When world was talking about this new bat
meanwhile Stuart Law used it in riverside match
between Durbishire and Durham in England's domestic
T20 World Cup.

According to general calculation the normal bat's
blade is almost double in length than it's handle.
The MMI3 Mongoose bat which Stuart Law used has
handle 43% longer and blade(blade is that part of bat
which is actually used to hit a ball) is 33% shorter
than that of traditional bat.From above statistics it is
clear that Mongoose bat have handle longer than the
blade.Mongoose bat is specially made for T20 cricket.
Mongoose was sponsoring Stuart Law that's why he used
that bat apart from that Mongoose is also sponsoring
New Zealand Cricketer Loo Vincent and Lady cricketers
like Laura Marsh and Ebony Brent.

Many time attempts were made to propose new types
of bats but MCC rejected them but passed Mongoose bat
that's why Stuart Law could use it.MCC in turn ICC
don't have problem with cricketer using this type
of bats.

Producers of Mongoose bats are claiming that
if you will hit two shots with equal power one
from traditional bat and other from Mongoose bat
then shot by Mongoose bat will be enhanced by 20%
due to it's structure.It have blade more thicker
than that of traditional bats.Marcus Kedrington
Fernandez have designed this bat.

Mongoose bat costs 13 thousand rupees(159 pounds)
in England.Stuart Law admitted that if you are
holding Mongoose bat it seems to be having power
of around half brick.

Let us wait and see if Mongoose bat will
become popular or not;it depends on batsman's
experience.No need to mention this type of bat
has come in the market to support batsmans in
very efficient way.Have anyone thought about
bowlers?.Kevin pietersen invented switch shot
then cricket specialist said that bowlers also
should be given right to throw from any side and
with any hands.Now cricket fan don't like less
score matches instead they want matches like
SA-AUS 434-438.

Can two cricketers be compared?

You must have seen or heard people saying
Don Bradman is the best cricketer,Sachin
is the best cricketer,Lara is the best
cricketer and blah blah.These are the people
who have seen anywhere an average of that
batsman or no. of centuries he owns

It is very much crucial to compare two cricketers
because they plays in different pressure,different
style and different crowd.With what pressure Sachin
have played and performed well cannot be same for
other cricketers.Sachin bears the psychological
pressure of performing well while playing cricket.
We cannot surely say that if Don Bradmen were play
for India then he would have registered the average
of 99.94 than also.

One time Sachin Tendulkar's childhood friend
i.e. Vinod Kambli was said to have more talent than
him but what matters for us is the final result we
currently have.If Vinod Kambli would have got proper
environment for cricket then surely his final record
were better than the present.

Anytime a cricketer starts playing well consistently
we start opening our mouth for doing comparisons between
him and some great cricketers.

New Zealand's former Cricketer Richard Hadlee said that
Sachin is best because he have good record in both
Test and One Day.Sir Donald Bradman did not play One
day and Hadlee compared Sachin with Bradman on the basis
of his good performance in One day.But what if Bradman
would also have played One day and performed well.

Sir Donald Bradman played 53 Tests and made 29
centuries.When Sunil Gavaskar 'broke' the record
of 29 centuries everybody start congratulating
him but he said Sir Donald Bradman's 29 centuries
record will be said to broken if anyone would make
30 centuries after playing equal to or less than 53
test matches.

So a batsman can only be differentiated based on
his particular record.Comparing a batsman will
also be very much contradictory when any old
cricketer says it any press conference or in any
column in Newspaper.

Does fourth inning performance holds any criteria to measure a Batsman's performance?

I am talking about Fourth inning then then it will
be obviously Test cricket.I am not talking about
T20 test match because this type of matches have
not been played still.If T20 test match will come
in existence I don't know what they will call the
traditional Test Cricket.Anyone who don't like traditional
cricket might say it is Cricket of Senior Citizens.

Coming back to the point of fourth inning performance.
Many great said cricketers have performed bad in Fourth
inning but some have performed well.Many cricketer's
fourth inning score have bring win for their team but
many have record of not winning matches in which they
have performed well in fourth inning.

It's very hard to score runs in fourth inning
because does not remains as it was in start,batsman
have to play in pressure and also batsman feels tired
in the fourth inning.Sachin Tendulkar is great cricketer,
everybody knows but he have conflicted to make big score
in fourth inning.

Brian Lara played his cricket when West Indies Cricket
had lost his Crown of World Winners;there was nothing left
for West Indies.If a great cricketer is playing for a team
which seems to be nothing without him,does not guarantee
that team will have good record finally.This thing can be
taken as like If you will make Clive Lloyd as captain of
Bangladesh their record will not be improved anymore.
Brian Lara have made 860 runs in that fourth inning
of the Test which they lost finally.Brian Lara have played
well in Fourth inning but it have not improved overall
record of West Indies.Currently Brian Lara's work is being
done by Shivnarayan Chanderpaul.Chanderpaul is also
making runs in fourth inning but it get counted as
contribution in their lost.

Making runs in fourth inning is hard you will get to know
this by knowing that anyone have not yet scored total
2000 runs in fourth inning of Test.Talking about currently
playing and have total of more than 10000;Rahul Dravid
have scored 1320 runs in fourth inning.Brian Lara have
scored 1440 runs in fourth inning but have retired.
There are nearly 16 batman who have scored more than
1000 runs in fourth inning but none have scored 1000
runs that contributed in the team win.South Africa
skipper Greame Smith is very much closer to this record.
The tests in which SA batted in fourth inning and have
won out of this 16 in which Smith played he scored 919
runs with the average of 83.33 and total 3 centuries.
There are maximum 4 centuries have been scored by Sunil
Gavaskar and Ricky Ponting in fourth inning.The most
remarkable point about Smith's 3 century is they brought
win for the team.Ricky Ponting's 3 centuries out of 4
have brought win for the team.Sachin Tendulkar have
not scored at least 500 runs in fourth inning which have
bought win for the team.

Three complete member countries are conflicting to save Cricket on their land

No need to mention which country is most conflicting
to save cricket on their land.

Pakistan who have won a One Day world Cup and recently
a T20 world Cup,is no more organizing any ICC event.
First ICC Champions Trophy shifted from Pakistan to
South Africa and recently ICC One Day World Cup 2011
decided to move from Pakistan.Cricketer's security is big
issue keeping in mind these issues ICC is currently not
organizing any event in Pakistan.We must have heard that
terrorist attacks around Team Hotel but not targeting
cricketers but recent terrorist attack on Sri Lanka Team
bus was targeting cricket.Fortunately no cricketer died.
(During a cricket match a terrorist group was planning to
attack cricketers but in that group there was a cricket
fan who stopped them from attacking cricketers).Do you
know during the recent series between Pakistan and
Australia who was guarding cricketers,Jobless Drivers
and Cookes were acting as guard.What if terrorist would
have attacked once again?.Which ability of these cookes
and driver would have come in use.Would they have told
terrorist we will make you free foods and free trip to
Disneyland?.Thanks to god this conditions did not come.
From Sri Lanka incident Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) have
not learnt any lesson.Pakistan's internal issues have
not been solved yet.How Pakistan is running their Cricket
cannot be explained.Pakistan Cricket Board don't takes
any action if their cricketer shows indiscipline.Former
Pakistan Coach Bob Woolmer was worried because most of
the Cricketer were concentrated on Religious matters.
During 26/11 attacks on India someone said India cannot
be divided from ICC.Obviously Pakistan also cannot be
divided from ICC because their is different joy of
seeing India-Pakistan match.

.Next conflicting country is Zimbabwe.When ICC's
former chairman Ray Mali who was working as temporary
ICC president toured Zimbabwe to inspect Cricket
Condition,He told that Zimbabwe Cricket have ability
to become no.1.What he said is worth laughing because
Country who is not allowing any journalist to enter in
their Country because they would print the sad
condition of Zimbabwe in newspaper,cannot become
no.1 anymore.Zimbabwe was active from late 30 years and
currently Zimbabwe cricketers are not at least improved
their cricket status.Zimbabwe is worry about Complete
Membership which can be anytime taken away from them.
ICC gives Complete membership based on their performance
otherwise every country would have beared the status of
Complete Membership.Zimbabwe cricketers are leaving
Zimbabwe or get involved in other professions.Zimbabwe's
sad condition is open to everyone.If ICC will not take
immediate steps Zimbabwe Cricket will become bad example
for other countries.

Last Country is Bangladesh who is also complete member
of ICC but they are struggling in Test.So Test Cricket fans
are not interested in seeing a 5 day match get converted
in Two or three day match.So there is risk of them loosing
ICC's complete membership in future.

So Pakistan,Zimbabwe and Bangladesh are currently
headache for ICC.ICC cannot do anything in Pakistan,
Pakistan will have to act on their own but ICC can improve
conditions in Zimbabwe and Bangladesh because at least
these countries are not going through any terrorism.

Should we call Cricket as National sport of India?

National sport of country is that sport which a
country plays most and have achieved unbelievable
heights in that sport.

Do currently national sport of India fits in the
above scale?;answer will be no.So no need to mention
which sport is currently worth saying national sport of
India?.

Hockey was given name of national sport of India,when
India was master of Hockey.When players like Colonel
Dhyanchand was playing for India that time India was
master of Hockey but it is past.When India was going
in Olympics it was sure that India will win gold Medal,
but...this was History of Indian Hockey.India's
performance at that time does not matches with current
poor performance.The disastrous moment for India
Hockey came when they could not qualify for Olympic
last year.Present condition is that no parents are
interested in seeing their child as future DhyanChand

Which things are responsible for this sad conditions
of Indian Hockey.Cricket can be said responsible for
this condition of Hockey at some extent but it was
work of Sport Ministry that they should have taken
sufficient steps to promote Hockey so that Cricket should
not dominate their National game.But call it whatever
you say,fever of cricket that touched Indian cricket fans
when India won 1983 World Cup have not yet came down,
instead India owns powerful 'Chair' in ICC.Initially
when ICC was started England and Australia had 'Veto
Power' but when Asian countries started dominating ICC,
they had to end 'Veto Power' in 1991.Today it is not
worth mentioning what position India holds on map of
World Cricket?.Hockey started first in India but their
is no organization controlling Hockey in India but their
is organization controlling Cricket in India i.e.BCCI.
Initially India was said beginner of Cricket but now
India have given answer to them by winning two world Cups

If your favourite team have already won the series then you
will blame one or times and then stop.But what when your
favourite team was lagging before that match.You had expected
that your favourite team would have won if match would have
committed.When you come out of your home after draw match and
discussing with your colleagues and start saying did you see
Gayle's sixes that was a highest six I have seen ever.And
then start an endless debate on that match which was not
played completely.

If match proceeds after rain by drying pitch and umpire
have declared pitch to be fit for playing.Now again another
problem your whole cricket knowledge get defeated by the
rule which is unpredictable that is Duckworth Lewis method.
Even if you saw the first inning you caannot tell on what
basis the second inning team requires how many runs in
reduced overs.Now even if match have started again but
there is threat of that dead rule to be applied whenever
match halts and both the team have played 20-20 overs

South African cricket fans cannot forget that day when
D.L. method reached it's peak and South Cricket had required
22 runs in 9 balls in Semifinal of World Cup against Australia
before the rain started ruining that interesting match but
after the rain stopped then D.L.method was applied they
required 22 runs in 1 ball.Anyone have not heard of heating
22 runs in 1 ball in any type of cricket.At least Umpires
should have declared South Africa as defeated instead of
displaying South Africa requires 22 runs in 1 ball on scoreboard.
There are many examples in which D.L. method have broke the
heart of cricket fans.

ICC should think of another rule instead of D.L.rule which
at least can be justified easily.

What's wrong with West Indies cricket?

The team which was no.1 for many years in late 1970s is
currently at that position in ICC ranking,which cannot be
appreciated.This team was said to be non-defeatable in it's
good time.Do you know from 1980 to 1995 they had not lost a
single Test Series.But time changes,'Change' is rule of universe.

What are the reasons responsible for this condition of West
Indies Cricket ?.The main comment that former Cricketer Mark
Taylor did on West Indies Cricketers is that they are forgetting
the right techniques of Cricket.It cannot be said there is lack
of talents in West Indies but West Indies Board is not able to
extract it's best cricketers for playing XI.West Indies team
cricketers comes from different territory.Each territory launches
their own players in all other sport except for Cricket.The unity
of West Indies Territories over Cricket should be appreciated.

cricketers because it would have cost them 750 pounds.

West Indies Board had expected high profit by hosting World
Cup 2007 but the World Cup 2003 was the biggest flop show in
world Cup history.There was lot of mismanagement due to which
many suffered and it reached maximum when Pakistan coach Bob
Woolmer died during World Cup.So World Cup 2007 did not
increases prestige of West Indies as an organizer of World Cup.

The single cricketer in West Indies cricket team who is
trying to bring lost respect for West Indies Cricket is Shiv
Narayan Chanderpaul.During Wisdon Test Series in England,when
Chanderpaul did not play second Test they lost by an inning and
238 runs.The main advantage of his batting is that it have
stability.

Texas business tycoon Elan Stanford who is the biggest fraud
in Cricket History initially tried to improve West Indies Cricket
by his dollars is facing cheating case.West Indies Board is not
able to take decision of what profit did they get by their alliance
with Stanford.

So currently West Indies Cricket cannot think of becoming no.1
rather they should think of playing respectful game.

Where is ICL?

The Cricket league which was danger for BCCI initially is now conflicting for it's existence.When ICL came initially BCCI was confused that this league should be supported or not and later they decided that ZEE GROUPS is like another Carry
Packer.ZEE GROUP's Subhas Chandra initially told that BCCI should consider us as their assisting organization bacause they wanted BCCI's stadiums.But BCCI anticipated the danger and took steps after very much discussions.ICL initially applied for telecast rights and could not succeed in any attempts.Like Carry Packer who also conflicted for telecast rights but when they did not get and then started World Series.ZEE GROUP already had their own channel and they started their league in Panchkula Stadium after not getting approval from BCCI.Please note that many former Cricketer like Pakistan's former coach Bob Woolmer lost his best cricket year in the World Series.

The cricketer's who were conflicting for playing for National team could not take the important decision of their life.ICL's money attracted many other foreigner Cricketers like Brain Lara,Damian Martin,Stuart Law and many more.Brian Lara was the biggest flow show of first season of ICL.The crucial decision which BCCI took is throwing out any person associated with ICL.The cricketers which chose to go for ICL were banned for any domestic Cricket,One Day and Test Cricket.So there was no chance of any ICL cricketer to play for the country.But now BCCI is determinant about bury ICL in pages of history by allowing ICL cricketer to improve their mistake by breaking the contract with ICL and start with domestic cricket.

BCCI must have done very much discussions on throwing former Prudential Cup winner team's Captain Kapil Dev.After joining ICL,Kapil said that BCCI was not serious about promoting cricket in India and there is deficiency of talent in country.First of all Kapil Dev was working as chief of MRF Foundation for BCCI.Why didn't he raise the questions of necessity of talent in Country before?.

First season of ICL got mix response from cricket fans,but...when BCCI announces their own league i.e. IPL it got unexpected response.During IPL,TRP reached approximately 8 defeating TRP of famous TV serials in India.IPL's second season was also successful and fans enjoyed it.The main difference between ICL and IPL is that IPL is sanctioned and ICL is not.ICL many times applied to get sanctioned by BCCI and ICC but they did not succeed in any attempt.Later they warned BCCI about knocking the door of Court.But now ICL is going through economic slowdown and suspended it.

Modifying Cricket

We have seen now days many modifications to cricket have been done.The rules of cricket were made by MCC.But now many occasions have come where rules are need to be modified.Let us take examples:
1.Ricky pointing used Graphite plated bat.
2.Adam Gilchrist used Squash ball in Gloves during World Cup 2007.
3.Kevin Pietersen invented switch shot,which was later declared right.
4.Free hit in T20 and One Day.
5.Referring to third umpire for sensitive decisions.
6.Power plays.
7.In IPL,strategic brake was used for increasing TRP but it was criticised by captains
8.During ICL 12 run are declared after certain boundary.
I have heard that there is discussion on reducing Test days from 5 to 4.I have also heard that ICC is thinking of trialing Day Night Test cricket,because it will increase traffic in stadium.

ICC is continuously increasing the no. of Associate and Affiliate members,but what they are doing to convert a Associate country to Complete members?.Zimbabwe which is a complete member of ICC will be a Associate member in future if cricket in Zimbabwe will not be appreciated by ICC.Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe is very much responsible for ruining country.You know you cannot withdraw more than 8 American dollar from your account at a time.Zimbabwe officials takes fees in American dollar but Cricketer gets fees in Zimbabwe dollar which value have been immensely down.So who will stay there for ruining his life?.During World Cup 2007 a cricketer named Anthony Ireland told He did not get at least time to read the contract.An executive told him that if you will delay then some other will be selected.Anthony have now left Zimbabwe for better cricket opportunities.Zimbabwe's present condition is not hidden to anyone.
Let's talk about BCCI.Not promoting cricket in India by BCCI efficiently,the conditions led to foundation of ICL.But now ICL have been overlayed by IPL.IPL chief Mr.Lalit Modi told to donate sum of rupees for blast in Jaipur during IPL 2008,but he still have not donated that money and someone have filed a case against him for cheating.BCCI is cricket's richest organization ever,but they are spending just 1% of their total income on cricket.BCCI is not using it's full capabilities to promote cricket in India.

Here I am going to take you to event in West Indies when West Indies bowler were called killers.This was Test series between India and West Indies.Nari Contractor was batting and Charlie Griffith was bowling,those days Charlie Griffith was known for doing fast bouncers goaling the head of the batsman's.The ball that hit Nari was just short of good length,and Contractor tried to turn away as the ball rose sharply.... well, it was a very bad injury, but it ended well, relatively and Contractor got away without any permanent harm, but for a steel plate inserted in his head.At that deadly moment West Indies Captain Frank Worrell donated blood to Nari Contractor(as his blood group was matching with Nari C.).That day is now remembered as 'Sir Frank Worrell Day' in India.Nari Contractor never played Test cricket again.

Cricket is dying or evolving?
