Bad start means half lost

I was waiting for official declaration of the result
of fourth test match to write this post.Because if
rain would have abandoned the match then there were
no meaning of write this post.By the way The above
secret of loosing I derived from Ashes series's fourth
test match.

First take England side. They were looking confident
after the crucial win against England. The appreciation
which England cricketers had earned after a win;
they lost it on the first day of the fourth test match
by scoring 102 runs in 34 overs and no wicket to loose.
Later day after day England did not look to recover any
more.Australia completely humiliated England cricket.
Andrew Flintoff had declared himself fit for the fourth
test match but taking his knee injury as barrier selector
did not included him.

Australia really deserved for winning the fourth game
and they did it.Australians performed well in every
field.Credit goes to all 11 cricketers of Australian team.
There were rumour that Bret Lee is feet to play and he
might be included in the squad but he was not included
finally.Peter Siddle once again came out as important
bowler for Australian side after performing well in India.

Cricket demands England to win the Ashes series because
it will grab the attention of the fan all over the world
and fans complains that there is nothing entertaining
in Ashes now.

It will be interesting to enjoy the last match when
both the team will try to earn respect from their respective
fans.Let us see who will get success in their attempts.
I hope that both the team will try to make the last
test no lesser than a climax of a film. And hoping it will
not be one sided. Both the team will not leave any stone
unturned to win this match.

Vikas,
You are right in saying 'people like to see England win the Ashes' but seeing the 4th test it doesn't feel it will be like that. The brittle middle order are not going to help England's course either. The value KP brings to that middle order is really felt now. By losing KP and Freddie (in the last test) England lost two of their best counter-attacking batsmen, Prior is trying but no one is there to support him. In the bowling dept they shouldn't pick Harmison for God's sake.Give Sidebottom a chance.....lets wait and see what happens....

England have to change their middle order first.

I can't understand how players like Joyce with more talent and better records than players like Key don't get talked about.

I also don't think Moore is a bad prospect either as he seems to be mentally tough though he is basically a opener. He can still be tried as a number 3 or Cook can be shifted to number 3 with him opening the batting.

Shah is never a good number 3 but on a true surface like Oval he may come good at number at 5 and he is a aggressive player which is what England want.

I would drop Bell and Bopara and pick Moore and Joyce/ Shah.

Harmison? well I don't know why he played but I believe England will even keep him for the test at Oval!

Siders should have been picked at Headingley as it was perfectly suited for him but it wasn't to be.

Baiju,
England selectors are in big dilemma over selection.Let us sit back and see the end of this battle.

If England's selectors continue to say things like form is temporary and class is permanent well Australia would easily win the series.

GB,
England selectors can replace Harmison by Sidebottom. They should find correct substitute for Bell means they should concentrate on making strong their middle order.

Vikas,

As you say, the first day can make a big difference - it will be interesting to see the start at the Oval, especially after a break.

Yeah...Jonathan match result will be largely depend upon the first day cricket rather we can anticipate approximate result based on the first day.
